Selection process of SSC MTS recruitment 2024

There are 3 steps in the SSC MTS recruitment process. These are- 1) CBT, 2) PET and PST, 3) document verification.

Exam Pattern of SSC MTS CBT 2024

There are two sessions in the SSC MTS CBT exam. These are session-1 and season-2.

There are two subjects in session 1 CBT exam. These are- 1) Numerical and Mathematical Ability (20 questions and 60 marks), 2) Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving (20 questions and 60 marks).

Season 2 CBT exam also carries two subjects. These are- 1) General Awareness (25 questions and 75 marks), 2) English Language and Comprehension (25 questions and 75 marks).

You have to complete each session within 45 minutes. The question of SSC MTS CBT exam is objective MCQ type. You will get 3 marks for each right answer.

Total marks for SSC MTS exam is 270. Minimum qualifying marks for CBT exam is 30% for unreserved candidates and it is 25% for OBC and EWS and 20% for all other candidates.

PET (Physical Efficiency Test) for SSC MTS recruitment 2024

PET criteria for SSC MTS recruitment is walking. Male candidates have to walk 1.6 kilometres in 15 minutes. For female candidates, it is 1 km in 20 minutes.

PST (Physical Standard Test) For SSC MTS recruitment 2024

Basically, SSC MTS PST is Height, chest and weight measurement of candidates. PST measurement is only for MTS havaldar CBIC and CBN posts.

For male candidates, minimum requirements of height is 157.5 cms and chest is 81 cms with minimum expansions of 5 cms.

Relaxable height by 5 cms. in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Schedule Tribes male candidates.

For female candidates minimum requirements of height is 152 cms. relaxable by 2.5 cms in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Schedule Tribes.

Chest measurement is not applicable for female candidates of SSC MTS. But there is a weight measurement for them.

For female candidates minimum requirements of weight is 48 kgs, relaxable by 2 Kg in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of Schedule Tribes.

Document verification for SSC MTS recruitment 2024

Successful candidates have to submit following documents for verification by user department or organisations: 

  1. 10th pass certificate 
  2. Cast certificate if applicable 
  3. Disabilities certificate if available 
  4. Age relaxation certificate
  5. Ex-Servicemen Serving Defence Personnel Certificate/Undertaking/Discharge Certificate if applicable.
  6. No objection certificate for employed candidates.

SSC MTS Numerical and Mathematical Ability is LCM and HCF, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between numbers, Fundamental Arithmetic Operations and BODMAS, Percentage, Ratio and Proportions, Work and Time, Direct and inverse Proportions, Averages, Simple Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Area and Perimeter of Basic Geometric Figures, Distance and Time, Lines and Angles, Interpretation of simple Graphs and Data, Square and Square roots.

Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving

SSC MTS Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving syllabus is Coding and Decoding, Analogy, Following Directions, Similarities and Differences, Jumbling, Problem Solving and Analysis, Non-verbal Reasoning based on diagrams, age Calculations, Calendar and Clock.

General Awareness

SSC MTS General Awareness syllabus is History, Geography, Art and Culture, Civics, Economics, General Science and Environmental studies up to 10th Standard.

English Language and Comprehension

SSC MTS English Language and Comprehension syllabus is vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. and to test comprehension, a simple paragraph may be given and questions based on the paragraph to be asked.
