RRB announced to recruit 4208 candidates for RPF constable posts through rrb exam 2024.

Educational qualification for RPF constable Exam 2024:-

Candidates who have passed their 10th class can apply for RPF constable exam 2024.

RPF Constable salary, pay scale 2024:

Salary of RPF constable is Pay Level-3, Initial pay- INR-21,700.

Age limit for RPF constable Exam 2024:

The minimum age limit for RPF constable is 18 years and maximum age limit is 28 years as on 01-07-2024. 

Age relaxation is also available there. Age relaxation for OBC candidates is 3 years and SC/ST candidates are 5 years.

Important dates of RPF constable Exam 2024:- 

• Application starting on 15th April, 2024.
• Last date of application is 14th May, 2024.
• Dates for application form correction are 15th may to 24th may, 2024.

Selection process of RPF constable recruitment 2024:- 

There are four steps in the selection process of RPF constable recruitment 2024. These are,-

1. CBT Exam 
2. PET/PMT
3. Document Verification
4. Medical examination 

Exam pattern of RPF constable Exam 2024:- 

Questions type of RPF constable exam will be objective type multiple choice questions.

Subjects, number of questions and marks of RPF constable CBT exam 2024:- 

• Arithmetic (35 marks).
• General Intelligence and Reasoning (35 marks).
• General Awareness (50 marks).

RPF constable CBT exam has a total of 120 questions for 120 marks and the allotted time is 90 minutes.

RPF constable PET criteria for male candidates 2024:-

• Running:- 1600 metres.
• Time:- 5 minutes 45 seconds 
• Long jump:- 14 ft.
• High jump:- 4 ft.

RPF constable PET criteria for female candidates 2024:-

• Running:- 800 metres.
• Time:- 3 minutes 40 seconds 
• Long jump:- 9 ft.
• High jump:- 3 ft.

Required height for RPF constable male candidates:- 

• UR/EWS/OBC:- 165 CM
• SC/ST:- 160 CM
• For Garhwalis, Gorkhas, Marathas, Dogras, Kumaonese and other Categories specified by Govt:- 163 CM

Required chest size for RPF constable male candidates:-

• UR/EWS/OBC:- Unexpanded 80 CM and expanded 85 CM.
• SC/ST:- Unexpanded 76.2 CM and expanded 81.2 CM.
• For Garhwalis, Gorkhas, Marathas, Dogras, Kumaonese and other Categories specified by Govt:- Unexpanded 80 CM and expanded 85 CM.

Required height for RPF constable female candidates:- 

• UR/EWS/OBC:- 157 CM 
• SC/ST:- 152 CM
• For Garhwalis, Gorkhas, Marathas, Dogras, Kumaonese and other Categories specified by Govt:- 155 CM

Document Verification (DV) criteria for selected RPF constable:-

• Based on the performance of candidates in the CBT and subject to their qualifying in PET & PMT, candidates shall be considered for Document Verification. 
• Candidates from SC, ST, OBC-NCL & EWS selected purely on merit, without availing any relaxation available to them, shall be counted against UR vacancies. 
• In cases of two or more candidates securing the same marks, their merit position shall be determined by age criteria i.e. the older person shall be given higher seniority. 
• In case the date of birth also happens to be the same; they will be placed in ascending alphabetical order (a to z). 
• Appointment of selected candidates is subject to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test to be conducted by the Railway Administration, final verification of educational and category certificates, verification of character and antecedents of the candidates from the local Administration and successful completion of initial training. 
• Candidates may please note that Recruitment Committee only recommends names of the empanelled candidates and appointment is offered ONLY by the respective Zones/RPSF. 
• Candidates who do not appear for Document Verification will not be considered in the final selection, irrespective of their performance in CBT and PET/PMT. 
• Candidates shortlisted for DV will have to submit all their original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of DV. 
• Further, these candidates should upload the scanned copies (in true colour) of Photo & Signature before their DV date through the portal - https://oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv. 
• No additional time will be given to the candidates who are not producing their original certificates on their date of DV and the candidature of such candidates is liable to be forfeited.

Required documents for RPF constable document Verification:-

• The following documents in original, as well as their self-attested photocopies, will be required for verification in respect of candidates who qualify in PET/PMT. 
• 10th /Matriculation Certificate as proof of age, 
• 10th /Matriculation Certificate as proof of educational qualification, 
• Caste Certificate (for SC, ST & OBC-NCL candidates) in the format prescribed for employment under Central Government, 
• Discharge Certificate for Ex-Servicemen, 
• Two copies of self-attested colour photograph, 
• No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the present employer in case of serving Govt. Employees, 
• Domicile certificate wherever applicable, 
• Certificate belonging to Economically Weaker Section in the format prescribed for employment under Central Government

Medical examination for RPF constable recruitment 2024:-

After Document Verification, the candidates who got placed in the final result will be sent for a medical examination at the Railway Hospitals. They will have to qualify in medical category ‘B-1’ as prescribed in the Indian Railway Medical Manual. 

Those wearing glasses or having flat feet, knock knees, squint eyes, colour blindness and other bodily infirmities are not eligible for appointment. Sending for Medical Examination will not guarantee employment and does not imply that the candidate has been included in the select list.

Syllabus of RPF constable CBT Exam 2024:-

Arithmetic:- Questions on Number System, Whole Numbers, Decimal & Fractions and relationship between numbers, fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration, Time & Distance, etc. 

General Intelligence and Reasoning:- Questions on Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Spatial Visualization, Spatial Orientation, Problem Solving Analysis, Judgement, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discriminating observation, Relationship concepts, Arithmetical Reasoning, Verbal & Figure classification, Arithmetic number series, Non-verbal series, Coding and Decoding, Statement- Conclusion, Syllogistic reasoning, etc. 

General Awareness (50 marks):- Questions will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the Environment around him/her and its application to society; to test knowledge of current Events and such matters of everyday observation and experience as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to Indian History, Art and Culture, Geography, Economics, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, General Science etc.

How to fill an online application for the RPF constable exam 2024?

1. Candidates must read all information and instructions carefully before filling the ONLINE application to prevent mistakes. 
2. Candidates must first ‘Create an account’ for this CEN through the link given in the official RRB websites at para 14 (f) below. They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later. 
3. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application. Applications should be submitted only through the official RRB websites listed in Para 14 (f) below. The applicable Examination Fee is required to be paid. Multiple applications by a candidate will result in the rejection of all applications and debarment. 
4. ONLINE Mandatory Scanned Documents to be kept ready before filling the application:-

(i) Recent, clear colour passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the candidate in JPEG image (size 30 to 70KB) – without wearing dark glasses and/or cap. Note: Candidates must have at least 12 (twelve) copies of the same photograph for future use during the recruitment process. 

(ii) Scanned JPEG image of candidate’s signature in running handwriting (size 30 to 70KB) 

(iii) SC /ST Certificate (only for candidates requesting free pass for train travel) in pdf format (upto 500KB).

Application fees for RPF constable recruitment exam 2024:-

• General, OBC:- 500 (INR 400 refundable)
• SC, ST, Female, minorities, economically backward classes, ex-servicemen:- 250 (INR 250 refundable).

Is there any negative marking in the RPF constable exam 2024?

Yes there is a negative marking in RPF constable exam 2024. The negative marking is ⅓, that means if you give three wrong answers then 1 mark will be deducted.

Is the RPF constable exam conducted every year?

Normally Railway Recruitment Board conducts RPF constable exam once in a year.
